The Flat Rock Playhouse to Present SHARON OWENS AS BARBRA STREISAND, 7/14-17

The Flat Rock Playhouse 2016 season will continue with the return of Music on the Rock favorite and Las Vegas headliner Sharon Owens performing once again as Barbra Streisand. Sharon Owens as Barbra Streisand will run from July 14th through July 17th at the Clyde & Nina Allen Mainstage in the village of Flat Rock.

After a critically acclaimed performance last year in Barbra and Frank: The Christmas Concert That Never Was, television personality Sharon Owens is coming back to the Rock as Barbra Streisand this time on the Mainstage for one weekend only performing hits like "Don't Rain on My Parade," "People," "The Way We Were," "Somewhere" and "Evergreen." She will take the audience on a journey through the Streisand years - 60's Broadway, 70's Disco and 80's Films.

With a staggering vocal range of over three full octaves, Owens' uncanny resemblance and spot-on vocal match to Streisand's tone has landed her international films, commercials, stage appearances and TV shows including Access Hollywood, Extra, Entertainment Tonight and the Fox hit "Performing As..." Over a three-decade career, Owens has passionately pursued and achieved a slew of artistic goals, consistently reinventing her tribute to Streisand in order to break new creative grounds in the entertainment industry.

"It was in the cabarets where I first learned that I could mimic Streisand," says Owens. "It is an honor to tribute such an amazing, talented, gifted and giving philanthropist. A woman who paved the way for so many women who dare to dream big."

Owens has been performing her "Tribute to Barbra Streisand" to critical acclaim nationwide in major showrooms, for corporate events and as a headliner in Las Vegas. She also appeared in "Legends in Concert" at the Bally's Hotel and Casino. Sharon has also had her own show at the Westin Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas titled "Barbra and Frank, The Concert That Never Was..." performing alongside Sebastian Anzaldo as Frank Sinatra. Owens and Sebastian have traveled casinos and performing arts centers around the world including a performances in Holland, Belgium, China, Japan, Canada, Germany, Australia, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Vietnam and The Rainbow Room, New York City.

Sharing the Flat Rock Playhouse stage with Owens are George Wilkins, Daniel Iannuci, Paul Babelay, Bill Altman, David Gaines, Chris Imhoff, Mike Brubaker and Sabrina Kumar on piano, bass, drums, guitar, synth, trumpet, french horn, and reeds respectively. Wilkins also serves as Music Director.

Sharon Owens as Barbra Streisand will run July 14th through July 17th at Flat Rock Playhouse's Clyde & Nina Allen Mainstage.
