Inspired by the internationally acclaimed website created by Frank Warren, PostSecret: The Show will make its debut today, April 22-May 4 at the Booth Playhouse at Blumenthal Performing Arts Center in a production co-produced by Warren and Blumenthal Performing Arts.

PostSecret: The Show is a visual, auditory and emotional journey through the beauty and complication of our deepest fears, ambitions, and confessions. With the assistance of projected images and video, three actors guide the audience through a crowd-sourced narrative of the stories behind never-before-seen secrets: sexual, soulful, funny and controversial postcards that have made PostSecret.com, one of the most popular blogs in the world.

With the bravery of RENT and the surprising honesty of The Vagina Monologues, PostSecret: The Show is a breakthrough in audience sourced storytelling that reaches beyond the confines of the stage, reminding audiences that no matter what you may be facing, you are not alone.

After half a billion visitors, half a million anonymous secrets received and the release of 5 bestselling books, artist, curator and internet phenomenon Frank Warren has put together a team of theatre professionals to bring life to the unheard voices of PostSecret and he is excited about launching this innovative web-to-stage project in Charlotte.

"Having just been a part of the PostSecret Live event in Charlotte on March 19, I know that Charlotte is a great place for embracing a new concept like PostSecret: The Show," said Warren. "And having the support of an amazing partner like Blumenthal Performing Arts will make sure that this is a memorable experience for fans of both theatre and PostSecret."

"Frank Warren has earned such a great reputation for building community with PostSecret, so we are honored and thrilled to be working with him to translate PostSecret into a new medium," said Blumenthal's Vice President of Programming Douglas Young. "We are also excited that theatre fans in the Charlotte region will be among the first in the country to see this new show, as we hope to put together a national tour that will begin in 2015."

Tickets for the two week run are available at BlumenthalArts.org, 704-372-1000 or from the box office in the Belk Theater lobby, 130 N. Tryon Street.
