Children’s Theatre of Charlotte Hosts Auditions for How I Became a Pirate

Children's Theatre of Charlotte will hold open auditions for "How I Became a Pirate" on Tuesday, December 7 and Wednesday, December 8 from 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm. A swashbuckling family musical, "How I Became a Pirate" is adapted from the popular picture book by Carolina author Melinda Long. Roles are available for male adult actors only. Actors of diverse ethnic backgrounds are encouraged to audition.
Auditions will take place at ImaginOn, 300 East Seventh Street. Interested candidates should prepare 16 bars of a song and bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided. Candidates should also wear clothing that is easy to move in. Auditions may consist of a cold reading from the script.Rehearsals begin December 27th. Performances will be held on weekends from January 21-February 6, with weekday performances January 19-February 4."How I Became a Pirate" will be directed and choreographed by Ron Chisholm.Children's Theatre of Charlotte is supported, in part, with an Operating Grant from the Arts & Science Council, Charlotte-Mecklenburg, Inc. and the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Cultural Resources.Videos
