Carolina Actors Studio Theatre (CAST), Zumba and YOR Health presents Zumba Dance Party to help kick-off and raise funds for the upcoming production of REAL WOMEN HAVE CURVES on June 18th from 7 to 11 pm. Tickets are $15 and the event is located at CAST (1118 Clement Ave). The production of REAL WOMEN HAVE CURVES will run from July 15th to the 31st.

Zumba is the hottest Latin dance fitness craze and being taught all over the country and abroad in gyms, schools, dance studios and living rooms. Now CAST is bringing it to the theatre. A team of instructors will be leading participants in an exciting, fun and easy-to-follow dance class set to Latin and international music. The evening will also include a freestyle dance party, healthy treats and drinks from YOR Health and other local vendors, raffle and prizes. Please wear comfortable clothing and dance shoes or sneakers.

REAL WOMEN HAVE CURVES was written for the Stage and adapted for film by author Josefina Lopez, winning the Audience Award and a Special Jury Prize at the 2002 Sundance Film Festival. It is the story of the teenage Ana, torn between mainstream ambitions, cultural heritage, her struggle for higher education, and her place as a woman in the world. Author Josefina Lopez will attend performances at CAST and have talk backs available after the show.

Tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for students and seniors. From July 15th to the 31st, the show schedule is Thursdays through Saturdays at 8 PM and Sunday matinees at 2:30 PM.
