SPAMALOT to Play EPAC, 4/30-5/16

By:

Eric Idle's Spamalot elevated to cult classic status when King Arthur and his haphazard knights first stormed the Broadway stage in 2005, earning Spamalot the Tony Award for Best Musical and garnering 14 other Tony nominations. The Ephrata Performing Arts Center will present this madcap comedy at EPAC's Sheridan Bigler Theater. The production opens on April 30, 2015, and runs through May 16, 2015.

Based on the 1975 movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Spamalot parodies the legend of King Arthur and his knights as they dance, sing, and squabble their way through an outrageous divine quest. Joined by Sir Lancelot the Brave and Sir Robin, Arthur rides - or rather, trots - to Camelot and beyond in search of the coveted grail. But first, the crew must dodge flatulent Frenchmen, the dreaded Knights of Ni, and numerous other fictitious foes.

EPAC's artistic director Edward R. Fernandez will direct along with Pat Kautter. Expect Kautter Fernandez and company to bring this cult classic to life! Take a comedic trip back to Camelot and watch Arthurian legends "eat ham, and jam, and Spam a lot."

Spamalot will run from April 30, 2015, through May 16, 2015, at EPACs Sharadin Bigler Theatre. Tickets can be purchased at ephrataperformingartscenter.com or by calling 733-7966 x 1.

Friday night shows are at 8 pm; Saturday and Sunday matinees are at 2 pm.

Ticket prices are $25 - $32 for evening shows and $22 for matinees.
