Irish Tenors, Canadian Brass & More Set for Strand-Capitol's Holiday Season

Beginning Nov. 26 and continuing throughout December, the Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center will bring holiday performances the whole family will enjoy to downtown York. Performances include: The Brian Setzer Orchestra Christmas Rocks 10th Anniversary Tour!! on Nov. 26 at 7:30 p.m.; The Irish Tenors on Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m.; Canadian Brass on Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m.; Tim Warfield's All-Star Jazzy Christmas on Dec. 21 at 7:30 p.m.; and Wynonna & The Big Noise: A Simpler Christmas on Dec. 21 at 7:30 p.m.

"The Strand is giving visitors even more reason to bring their families to downtown York for the holidays," said Ken Wesler, CEO and president of Strand-Capitol. "The shows will provide all visitors, fans and music enthusiasts with the chance to see renowned artists, enjoy classic songs, and hear the big hits that bring the holidays to life."

The Brian Setzer Orchestra Christmas Rocks 10th Anniversary Tour!!
Special Guest: Firebird
Tue., Nov. 26 at 7:30 p.m.

Brian Setzer, a three-time Grammy award-winner, has smash hits as founder/leader of The Stray Cats, his 18-piece Brian Setzer Orchestra and as a solo artist. This performance will include Setzer's legendary guitar magic on hits such as "Rock This Town," "(She's) Sexy +17," "Stray Cat Strut," "Jump, Jive and Wail" and lots more, as well as his re-imagined and acclaimed holiday classics.

Prior to the show, a marquee dining event will provide a gourmet four-course meal with a glass of wine to guests with reservations. This pre-show dinner will be prepared exclusively by Accomac Catering. Tickets for this very special dining event must be purchased separately.

The Irish Tenors
Wright*Kearns*Tynan: The Premiere Irish Holiday Celebration Tour
Sun., Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m.

Finbar Wright, Anthony Kearns and Ronan Tynan have been touring together as The Irish Tenors since 1998. We Three Kings is their best-selling Christmas Album and includes Christmas classics they feature year after year in their legendary Christmas Tour, which has become a tradition for many families who love the sparkle that marks their holiday program.

Canadian Brass
Mon., Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m.

Five tremendous brass musicians - each a virtuoso in his own right - form the legendary Canadian Brass. With a vast repertoire from Baroque masters to marches, holiday favorites to Dixieland, and jazz to Broadway, Canadian Brass has created their own musical world by transcribing, arranging and commissioning more than 200 works. This December, Canadian Brass will bring the sounds of the season to the Strand Theatre as they present your favorite carols and holiday hits!

Tim Warfield's All-Star Jazzy Christmas Show
Sat., Dec. 21 at 7:30 p.m.

Returning to the Strand Theatre from last season will be saxophonist and York, Pa. native Tim Warfield. Tim Warfield and his all-star band will provide a musical tribute to the holiday season once again. The music personnel, all of elite status and several of which have been Grammy nominated, include trumpeter Terell Stafford, pianist Cyrus Chestnut, vibraphonist Stefon Harris, bassist Rodney Whitaker, drummer Clarence Penn and vocalist Joanna Pascale. These Jazz superstars will perform songs from Tim Warfield's Jazzy Christmas including "The Little Drummer Boy," "Silent Night" and more, as well as new arrangements.

Wynonna & The Big Noise: A Simpler Christmas
Sun., Dec. 22 at 7:30 p.m.

Five-time Grammy winner and New York Times bestselling author Wynonna Judd is bringing her upcoming holiday tour A Simpler Christmas to the Strand's stage along with her band The Big Noise. Together, they will provide a joyous performance showcasing her legendary voice in some Christmas favorites and some of her greatest hits.
