Whether the words of Dolly Parton’s workplace anthem evoke familiar memories of the 1980 film of the same name, or they just seem familiar because they describe your morning routine; 9 to 5, the musical is certain to delight anyone who has ever punched a clock, gossiped at a water cooler or kidnapped their sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot of a boss. The comedy is charmingly reminiscent of a 1970’s sitcom and the music surpasses any expectations of the Queen of Country while the authentic sentiment of the leading trio’s friendship assures that 9 TO 5 is a surefire hit.
