Yorktown Stage Announces THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE

By: Jun. 19, 2018

Yorktown Stage Announces THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE ImageTony and Drama Desk Award winning musical is set to play Yorktown Stage this July!

Yorktown Stage will produce The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. This marks the first time this smash-hit, Broadway production will grace the stage. As part of their MainStage Series, Spelling Bee will star an all-professional cast of adults. Featuring a fast-paced, wildly funny book, a truly fresh and vibrant score, and audience participation, this Bee is a crowd pleaser and an instant theatre patron favorite!

An eclectic group of six mid-pubescents vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-affirming "ding" of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves! At least the losers get a juice box.

This popular production runs one weekend ONLY from July 28-29. Tickets $15-$25. Visit www.yorktownstage.orgto reserve your seats today!

NOTE: This production is rated PG-13 for adult humor and mild language.
