Westchester Summer Music Camp Offers Unique Programs and Flexible Options at Mike Risko Music School

The Little Mermaid Jr

Rehearsals begin Wednesday July 5

Rehearsals for the amazing musical theater production of The Little Mermaid Jr will be held in the evenings beginning July 5. Roles will be cast once rehearsals begin. The shows will be during the week of August 7. This is a great program for kids who are in camps during the day. Mike Risko Music is happy to work with summer vacation plans so your children can still participate, even with vacations and sleep away camps.

Rock Band Camp

Monday Aug. 21 through Friday Aug. 25, 9am-3pm, Showcase: Aug. 25, 6pm

Ages 6-17

This unique camp program is now in its 17th year and involves students in every aspect of the program, from concept to concert. Rockers will be placed in bands with other musicians in their age range, they will be assigned a band manager (one of Mike Risko's instructors) and write songs, learn covers, rehearse, create a band name, image and learn to promote their band for their concert which is held at the end of the week. Space is limited.

Musical Theatre Camp 2017

Monday Aug. 21 through Friday Aug. 25. 9am-3pm, Showcase: Aug. 26, 6pm

Ages 6-17

This is an opportunity for aspiring young actors and actresses to act out scenes from their favorite musicals. It is a one-week intensive workshop where every child will be able to shine as they learn to sing, act and dance using scenes and songs from their favorite shows. Vocal instruction, acting and dance instruction will all be provided as part of this workshop. The show will be performed at the end of the week complete with costumes in front of a large audience.

Summer Rock Band Workshop Evening Program

Starts week of July 5

Musicians of all ages and levels (including adults) can be in a band of their own. Bands meet once or twice per week in the evening to rehearse for a rock concert in August. All instruments and voice levels are welcome. Bands available for all ages and levels.

Half Day Summer Arts

Monday Aug. 14 through Aug. 18, 10am-1pm

For kids in grades 1-6

This is a fully-packed one week, half day arts program that runs the gamut -- from music to theater to art and more. Students will have fun exploring their inner artist with the afternoon free to do fun summer activities.

*If you are looking to design your own summer program, Mike Risko Music will work with you to add additional weeks for groups of 10 kids.

Summer Music Lessons

Wednesday July 5 through Friday August 25

There is no better time than the summer to get your child music lessons. Choose from any instrument (or voice) any lesson length and design to fit any schedule. Choose from 3-8 weeks of lessons. Lessons for all ages, all levels and all instruments are available. Mike Risko's highly qualified staff will ensure that your child is able to keep their music lessons going all summer long with plenty of flexibility for summer activities. Complimentary recitals and monitored practice sessions available for all enrolled students.
