WPPAC Announces Summer Theatre Academy 2019

By:

Calling all young performers! WPAPC's long-running summer theatre camp, the Summer Theatre Academy, will kick off it's four-session series in June, and this summer's offering are worthy of a celebration. Along with sessions working on THE LION KING JR. and ALADDIN KIDS, among others, WPPAC will be one of the first theatres to present FROZEN JR., the one hour version of the hit Broadway show.

The Summer Theatre Academy is a unique camp program that combines theatre training with performance opportunities. Students in rising grades 1-10 (current K-9th graders) receive training in acting, singing and dancing. While students rehearse their show with production staff, they apply techniques taught towards their performance. Each session ends with performances on the WPPAC stage that are open to the public.

"In the fifteen years of our program, we have seen students gain both confidence and performance skills," says Ariana Moses, Director of Education at the White Plains Performing Arts Center. "They finish the summer having made new friends, and brimming with the joy that is live performance. It's a pretty magical time."

Three, two, and one week sessions available for various age ranges. Tuition is based on length of program and early registration discounts are available when registering on or before April 15.
