By:

The Redhouse Arts Center in Syracuse, NY presents two familiar and popular summer shows in an alternating schedule: Bring it On the Musical and The Wizard of Oz. Both productions feature a cast of professional actors along with child actors from the Redhouse Theatrical Institute. Performances run alternating days July 28th through August 13th.

Take a journey over the rainbow with a family favorite,The Wizard of Oz. This adaptation of the Frank L. Baum Classic is sure to entertain audiences of all ages. Like so many girls her age, little Dorothy Gale of Kansas dreams of what lies over the rainbow. One day, a twister hits her farm and carries her to another world. Come join Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, the Cowardly Lion and Toto as they travel the universe of Dorothy's imagination as she comes to the realization that there really is "no place like home". Familiar music and songs include "Over the Rainbow", "Munchkinland" (Ding Dong! The Witch is Dead) and "If Only I had a Brain/A Heart" and many more! The Wizard of Oz is sure to put a smile on everyone's face.

The energy will be at an all-time high as Redhouse also presents Bring it On, the Musical. Overflowing with upbeat music and kicked up dance moves, this musical features an inspirational storyline. Campbell is cheer royalty at Truman High School and her senior year should prove the most cheertastic! However, an unexpected redistricting has forced her to spend her senior year of high school at neighboring, hard knock Jackson High School. Despite her obstacles, she befriends the dance crew and forms a powerhouse squad for the ultimate competition: Nationals. Bitingly relevant, sprinkled with sass, and inspired by the hit film, Bring it On The Musical takes audiences on a high flying journey filled with friendship, jealousy, betrayal, and forgiveness.
