Jimmy Webb and Jane Monheit Open Landmark on Main Street's 2014-15 Season Tonight

By:

What do you get when two brilliant musicians with deep Long Island roots come together to create a new concert co-presented by two beloved Long Island arts institutions? Musical Magic!

Such Musical Magic will occur tonight, October 11 at 8 PM as Jimmy Webb and Jane Monheit present their new show created specifically to kick off Landmark on Main Street's 2014-15 Season, a co-presentation with Usdan Center for Creative and Performing Arts.

Jimmy Webb, who calls Long Island his home, was the youngest man ever inducted into the National Songwriters' Hall of Fame and is the current Chairman. Some of the great songs he penned include "MacArthur Park," "Wichita Lineman," "Worst That Could Happen," "Galveston," and "Up, Up And Away."

Jane Monheit, a Long Island native and an alumni of Usdan Center for Creative and Performing Arts, has been a leading light in both the jazz and cabaret worlds since emerging as a finalist in the Thelonious Monk Institute's 1998 vocal competition.

This new concert will feature new interpretations of Jimmy Webb's catalogue with Jimmy on piano and Jane's vocals and backing musicians. This will be the first time Jimmy and Jane will perform together in this concert created for Landmark on Main Street and Usdan's first co-presentation.
