Half Moon Theatre to Launch 2015-16 Season with YOUNGER and Broadway Star Sutton Foster, 9/26
"It is beyond incredible to have Sutton Foster headline our Gala benefit," said Broadway actress and Half Moon Theatre School of the Arts Co-Director Denise Summerford. "Sutton and I met when we were both pretty much starting out doing the Broadway Tour of Grease nearly 20 years ago. When I joined the company, Sutton had been moved up from the ensemble into playing Sandy. While I was learning the show, I would sit in the audience and watch her deliver a beautiful, nuanced character performance that most actresses never find in that role. I knew then that she was special. It has been so incredible to watch her rise to stardom, and we are lucky to have Sutton Foster supporting our theatre company and performing arts school."
Ms. Foster has performed in 11 Broadway shows including THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, LITTLE WOMEN, YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, SHREK THE MUSICAL, and her Tony Award-winning performances in ANYTHING GOES and THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE. She is currently starring in TV Land's new hit series YOUNGER, which is written and directed by Darren Star (Sex and the City).
Gala sponsorships and tickets to the Caterina reception ($200 per person) are available and proceeds help support the 2015-16 season, School of the Arts scholarships, educational outreach programs, and HMT's new play reading series. Individual tickets to An Evening with Sutton Foster are available for $40-$75. Tickets for the Gala Benefit: An Evening with Sutton Foster are on sale now.
