EBENEZER to Open 12/13 at Ritz Theater

By:

Ebenezer, a new adaptation of Charles Dickens' classic A Christmas Carol by local playwright, producer and director, Edward Gibbons-Brown, will premiere at Safe Harbors of the Hudson's Lobby at the Ritz Theater Friday, December 13, through Sunday, December 15, 2013.

Presented by Hatmaker's Attic Productions, this new adaptation takes a closer look at one of the greatest characters in literature in a bare-bones re-imagining of Dickens' beloved tale. Ebenezer is A Christmas Carol as it has never been seen before: No frills, thrills, or chills, just a question: Who is Ebenezer Scrooge?

Performances of Ebenezer take place December 13 at 8 p.m., December 14 at 8 p.m. and December 15 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $20.00, $15 for children ages 12 and under and older adults age 65+ and can be purchased at www.HatmakersAttic.org, or at the door. Student tickets are $10 with valid I.D.

Hatmaker's Attic Productions, Inc. is honored to be a part of Safe Harbors of the Hudson Ritz Theater's ongoing efforts to restore The Ritz. Founded in 2012 by brothers Edward and William Gibbons-Brown, Hatmaker's Attic is dedicated to building a positive and safe creative environment where anyone can find a home in art.

Safe Harbors of the Hudson (SHOH) is a large-scale nonprofit redevelopment project in the City of Newburgh, New York, whose mission is transforming lives and building communities through housing and the arts. It is comprised of the Ann Street Gallery, a visual arts space that presents contemporary art exhibitions and programming; the Cornerstone Residence, home to 128 adults including the formerly homeless, veterans, those living with mental health diagnoses, artists and low income working adults in need of affordable housing; and the Lobby at the Ritz, a performing arts venue located in the historic Ritz Theater.
