Bethel Woods' Holiday Market Returns

The 9th Annual Holiday Market returns to Bethel Woods Center for the Arts on Saturday and Sunday, December 1-2, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. daily. The free event gives guests the opportunity to shop locally and features a wide selection of unique holiday gift options created by artists, crafters and specialty food vendors. This year will be the largest Holiday Market to date, featuring 75 vendors from across the region in the Market Sheds and Event Gallery, backlit by a cozy fire. This year's Holiday Market will also feature a selection of food trucks and outdoor vendors.

The Museum's Main Exhibit is getting a special visitor this year - Santa Claus! Bethel Woods is putting a 1960s twist on the popular Photos with Santa, presented by The Eldred Preserve, at this year's Holiday Market. Have your family's photo taken with Santa in front of the iconic 1960s bus in The Museum's Main Exhibit from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. There is no charge for photos, although donations to support Bethel Woods' creative learning and preservation projects are gratefully accepted.

Admission to the Holiday Market is free. Admission to the Museum is 50% off and The Museum's hours of operation are 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., with last entry at 2:00 p.m., on both days of Holiday Market. One of the country's top 1960s museums, The Museum at Bethel Woods connects visitors to the "decade that changed everything," leading into the creation of one of the greatest festivals of all time. It is brought to life through stories, immersive multimedia, interactive engagements and Woodstock Festival artifacts. The 2018 special exhibit, Peter Max: Early Paintings, gives guests the rare opportunity to see inspiring artwork from a pivotal time in the artist's illustrious career: from 1967 through 1972, when Max's work moved from nostalgic collage-inspired realistic paintings to the visionary, imaginative Cosmic creations that helped to define the psychedelic 1960s.

Families are encouraged to get creative together in the Holiday Art Studio, located in the Classrooms on the lower level of the Museum building from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and to keep an eye out for Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop, who will bring holiday cheer through live caroling that will take place throughout the site.

Complete your day with a holiday film! The Museum Theater will be screening The Santa Clause on Saturday and The Santa Clause 2 on Sunday, as part of the Flicks Series. The films each begin at 4:00 p.m. Entrance can be found through the Bindy Bazaar Museum Shop. Tickets are $10.00 for adults and $7.00 for children.
