Adirondack Theatre Festival Announces 24th Summer Season

By:

The 24th season of the Adirondack Theatre Festival will feature the golden era tap musical Front Page Flo. The show will open at the Charles R. Wood Theater, located at 207 Glen Street in downtown Glens Falls, and run on August 3rd, 4th, and 7th-9th. Performances will start at 7:30pm and will include a matinee at 2pm on August 8th. Tickets range from $32-$45 and can be purchased at the Wood Theater Box Office, online at ATFestival.org, or by calling (518) 480-4878.

In post-WWII New York City, the newspaper is king, and rambunctious reporter Flo is hungry for her big break. So when word hits the wires that a Soviet spy has landed in Manhattan, Flo follows the clues to get the scoop - and discovers more than she bargained for. With a golden-era Broadway score, dazzling dance numbers, loves lost (and found again), and non-stop fun, FRONT PAGE FLO is the world premiere musical that feels like seeing a classic for the very first time!

George Pinney is a director and choreographer who has celebrated much success. Nominated for a 2001 Tony Award and National Broadway Theatre Award in choreography, George received an Emmy Award for outstanding choreography for the PBS broadcast of Blast! He was a member of the creative team, acting director and one of three choreographers for Cyberjam, which opened in the West End of London. George, a recently retired Professor of Theatre and Drama and Head of the B.F.A. in Musical Theatre at Indiana University, has directed and/or choreographed over 150 musical theatre productions for national and international tours, regional and university theatres. Recognized for his teaching, George was awarded the Friedrich Herman Lieber Award for Distinguished Teaching, 5 Board of Trustees Awards for Excellence in Teaching and membership in the Faculty Colloquium of Excellence in Teaching.

Larry Kass is a 3-time Emmy nominated pianist, recording artist, Mighty Wurlitzer Theater Pipe organist, prolific composer and lyricist for FRONT PAGE FLO and the upcoming splashy musical TUNING IN. His wife Sara Kass is the executive producer of many theatrical shows and worldwide radio broadcasts of the Mighty Wurlitzer Radio Hour on the air for 21 years on WCLV 104.9. Sara is blessed with theatrical savvy and wonderful ideas for the libretto that seem to come out of nowhere.

Front Page Flo features 13 actors and actresses, making it ATF's biggest show yet. It's stars include Caleb Novell, Janie Johnson, Nathan Mittleman, Natalie Storrs, Christianne Tisdale (Triumph of Love), Lana Gordon (The Lion King), Christian Fary, Emilie Renier, Jack Doyle (Young Frankenstein), Josh Israel, Kari Baker, Tara Forseth, and Carlos Morales. Designers are Chris Rhoton (Scenic), Aaron Bowersox (Lighting), Scott Jones (Costume), and Jon Fredette (Sound), with Nathan Mittleman as Tapographer, Terry LaBolt as Music Director, Jennifer Ainsworth as Stage Manager, and Kat Norton as Assistant Stage Manager. The live band, will feature Tracy DeRagon (Reed 1), Frank Conti (Reed 2), Mike Nappi (Trumpet), Dan Cordell (Trombone), Charles Seeley (Bass), and Alyssa Verheyn (Drums).

"I wondered what it would be like to be the first person ever to sit in the audience for shows like 42nd Street or Bye-Bye Birdie and wanted to give our audience that opportunity. A chance to see a new classic. So get ready for the glitz, glam, bright lights, and vintage showbiz!" - Chad Rabinovitz
