The Armonk Players Presents K-PAX June 3-11

By: May. 12, 2011

The Armonk Players Presents K-PAX by Gene Brewer
Directed by Rodd Berro (of Armonk)

With: Debra Ablezer (Hartsdale ), Charlie Hallock (Hastings-On-Hudson), Dana Laite (Sleepy Hollow), Peter Lillo (Briarcliff Manor ), Caitlin Pierce and Mark Pierce (Harrison), Kenn Sapeta (Cold Spring ). Come see the New York premier of K-Pax, a fascinating, compassionate, very human play by Gene Brewer based on his book of the same name and a 2001 movie with Kevin Spacey and Jeff Bridges . In the play we have science, drama, psychology - and a measure of personal mystery - offered in a clinical setting where a psychiatric patient claiming to be an alien from the planet K-Pax has come for treatment. During his treatment, the patient demonstrates an outlook on life that inspires and moves his fellow patients, as well as the institution's staff and his psychiatrist. Through humor and a sharp vision of human nature and our human condition, Brewer has given us a thought-provoking, deeply interesting and satisfying theater experience.
