Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) Director of Federal Affairs Andrew Bird released the following statement on Representative Lee Zeldin's (NY-1) victory this evening.

Lee Zeldin was formally endorsed as a 2016 Clean Energy Champion due to his focus on promoting commonsense, free market solutions that grow the economy, strengthen America's national security, and provide affordable energy to homes and businesses across America. Our polling has shown that three out of four people are more likely to vote for a candidate who supports a clean energy plan that promotes the diversification and growth of clean energy sources, like wind, solar and hydropower. Tonight, our Clean Energy Champion Lee Zeldin has proven what we've seen time and time again, that advancing clean energy is part of a winning strategy.
