Spokane Civic Theatre Academy Summer Camp

Spokane Civic Theatre's education program, Civic Education, runs a themed summer camp season at its 1020 N. Howard Street theatre in Spokane, Washington. The 2026 'Summer of Wonder' season offered six weeks of half-day, week-long camps for students in grades 1 through 12, each culminating in a family and friends showcase. Camp topics included musical theatre (Broadway Blockbusters, Sing, Dance and Shine!), Shakespeare and stage combat (Swords & Sonnets), drama through literature, introductory theatre, improv and playwriting, dance and movement for actors, and a behind-the-curtain technical theatre camp covering sets, props, costumes, lighting and sound. A seventh week, LAUNCH: Civic Summer Intensive, serves serious teen and young adult performers with classes, workshops and panels led by local professionals. The season also included youth and teen productions.

Six weeks of half-day camps (9:00 AM-12:00 PM or 12:30-3:30 PM), each ending in a family and friends showcase, followed by a seventh week of the LAUNCH intensive (9:00 AM-4:30 PM) for teens and young adults. Camps are grouped by fall grade level: 1-3, 4-6, 6-9 and 9-12. Registration is handled through the Jackrabbit parent portal, and financial assistance is available.
