Lovewell Institute for the Creative Arts, Ft. Lauderdale

The Lovewell Institute's Fort Lauderdale Teen Sessions bring high school students together with a professional team of teaching artists to brainstorm, write, design, compose, choreograph and produce an original musical in three weeks. The entire show, from characters and music to staging and design, is created by the students, so every participant holds a meaningful role in the production. The program suits writers, builders, actors, musicians, designers, singers, composers and creative young people generally, whether they are experienced performers or new to theatre. Sessions are held at Nova Southeastern University's Don Taft University Center Performance Theatre in Davie, Florida, and culminate in public performances. Lovewell is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and offers scholarships.

Session One weeks one and two run 9am-5pm, week three runs 9am-9pm with performances Thursday June 25, Friday June 26 and Saturday June 27 at 7pm. Payment is split: $495 on acceptance and $495 by May 15, 2026. Cancellations before May 1, 2026 are fully refundable less a 10% administration fee; cancellations after that date through the start of the workshop are 50% refundable. Scholarships are available.
