Stage 72 at The Triad Presents SONGS YOU MIGHT HAVE MISSED 2: MISS HANNIGAN'S REVENGE, 4/5
Songs You Might Have Missed 2: Miss Hannigan's Revenge, featuring lost and forgotten showtunes from musical sequels, will be offered April 5th, 2014, at Stage 72 at The Triad.
The 7:00 PM concert will be hosted by special guest "Annie Two" and will feature performances from Jamie Bruxton (Hair, International Tour; Hairspray, North Shore Music Theatre), Callie Carson (Henry and Mudge, Theatreworks USA), Leanne Brunn (Geeks! The Musical), Marlana Filannino, Alan Gonzalez, Nicole Kelly, Jennifer Rebello, Bobby Traversa, and Dylan White. Musical direction is by Jon Delfin.
According to press notes, "In every Broadway season there are dozens of musicals that open in New York City hoping to make their very own claim to a little piece of the The Great White Way. Some of them are very successful and run for decades while others close quickly or never even make it out of the developmental process. Songs You Might Have Missed is a brand new cabaret series that celebrates the lost and forgotten songs of the musical theater persuasion. Featuring songs cut from very famous shows, songs from shows that never made it to NYC, and songs from some of Broadway's biggest bombs, Songs You Might Have Missed aims to breath life into these lost treasures as they are performed by some of NYC's hottest up-and-comers. Songs You Might Have Missed 2: Miss Hannigan's Revenge celebrates the oft-tried, but rarely successful, musical sequel. From Annie 2 to Bring Back Birdie, come revisit some of your favorite musical theater characters as their stories continue on past the final curtain! (With a few surprises in between!)"
The evening will feature 'songs you might have missed' from Annie 2: Miss Hannigan's Revenge, Annie 2 (2.0), Annie Warbucks, Babes on Broadway, Bring Back Birdie, The Dangerous Christmas of Red Riding Hood, Divorce Me, Darling, Funny Lady, Geppetto, In Trousers, Journey Back to Oz, Muppet Treasure Island, The Phantom of Manhattan, Rags, The Rainbow Road to Oz, Revenge of the Old Queen, Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure, Snoopy!!!, and Wonderland.
