Photo Flash: Jim Caruso's Cast Party to Hit Delray Beach This Spring
Once a month, Delray Beach is occupied with a taste of Manhattan, when host Jim Caruso and musical director Billy Stritch take over the Crest Theater with "Cast Party!" These long-time New Yorkers have been hosting the 'extreme open mic' at Birdland (the jazz corner of the world) and across the globe for the past 15 years, and have recently put Delray on their schedule of places to celebrate incredible local talent.
The Fieldhouse at Old School Square has been the home for the impromptu musical fun, but as of March 23, the main stage of The Crest Theatre will be the place to sing and be seen! After being serenaded by a set of swinging standards by Caruso, Stritch and bassist Paul Shewchuk, the audience is welcomed onto the stage to show off their musical stuff!
This will be the fourth time The Crest Theatre has welcomed Cast Party to town. Caruso says, "We have been thrilled at the turnout of extraordinary musical talent that has taken part on these magical nights. The audience has been dazzled by top-notch performances of Broadway, jazz and pop tunes. Anything can happen at the Delray Beach Cast Party!"
The last Cast Party took place on February 1, 2017. The talented local performers included Billy Rogan, Barbara Ann Little, Kai Olivia Koren, Victoria Hockton, Sarah Grant, Lisa Remick, Meri Ziev, JAnna Morrison, Lissen Ellington, Kalli Courakos, Sahid Pobon, Alexandria Garcia, Avery Sommers, Arielle Ward, Jasmine Wright, Eric Daniel O'Keefe, Melissa Jacobson, Peter Galman, Marissa Buchheit, Randy Zinkus, Michael Cartwright, Vinnie Lanciano and Victor Valdez.
