By: Jan. 09, 2019

Music and Art joined forces last night to honor valued members of the Palm Beach community who do so much to make sure the world hears our uniquely American popular music.

The Society for the Preservation of the Great American Songbook, founded by Dick Robinson and the late Vic Damone, celebrated its generous benefactors with an evening of music at Taglialatella Galleries in Palm Beach.

International Honorary Chairperson Herme de Wyman Miro and Event Chairpersons Henni and John Kessler along with gallery owners Dom and Sally Taglialatella headed up the evening which included performances by the Society's current Young Artist Award Winner, 17-year-old Chris Santiago, along with previous winners Kai Alivia, Clanaven Baldanado and Christina Zaide. The talented singers, who entertained with songbook classics, hone their skills under the masterful mentorship of Jill and Rich Switzer, Society Honorary Advisory Board Members and hosts of the The Morning Lounge with Jill and Rich on Legends Radio.

Dick Robinson presented a special recognition award to Jill and Rich for their unwavering commitment to the Society's mission to preserve and perpetuate the Great American Songbook through their training of the next generation of songbook performers. The Young Artists receive vocal and performance coaching, recording experience, historical songbook insight and air play on Legends Radio in Palm Beach County and on "Dick Robinson's American Standards by the Sea" which is heard on radio stations around the world.

The celebratory soiree was underwritten by PNC Wealth Management of Palm Beach represented by wealth advisor Pamela Dean.
