Photo Coverage: Rev. Shawn Moninger Brings 'Because I Can' to the Metropolitan Room
After 21 years as the cabaret light and sound guy, ministry was the only place left for Shawn Moninger to go. Now it;s 10 years later and Shawn returned to a club and made his cabaret debut last night at the Metropolitan Room. His opening act was Nancy Timanaro-Hogan, "The Loudest womean in the world!" and BroadwayWorld was there. Check out photos below!
Rev. Shawn is an ordained Unity Minister. He has been the Senior Minister at Unity Center For Practical Spirituality since September 2004. Rev. Shawn is the Founding President of The Unity Church of New York in New YOr City. He began his spiritual journey in earnest twelve years ago after a twelve year career as a lighting and sound designer in New York nightclubs. He's won four MAC Awards and a Backstage Bistro Award all for outstanding Technical Direction. To top it all off, several years ago he began performong stand-up comedy for which he was niminated for a MAC Award. Rev. Shawn and his partner David Friedman are in high demand as speaers in the New Thought and Unity movements. He is also the host of the increasingly popular radio show The Good Show with rev. Shawn, airing Wednesday mornings at 11am on, WDJZ 1530 Radio (CT) or on the web at www.thegoodshow.com. Rev. Shawn will appear once a month an the Metropolitan Room
