On Monday, Dec. 1 at 7PM the Metropolitan Room will host a rare evening of 'Jazz & Booze' featuring sets by Laurie Krauz, Luba Mason and Spider Saloff

Each of these three artists will perform a jazz set starting at 7:00 PM.  Doors and bar are open from 6:30 PM.

Laurie Krauz in 2007 and 2008 was named best Female Jazz Vocalist by the Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs (MAC). In 2004 she received Honorable Mention in the Joyce Dutka Arts Foundation Vocal Competition and was a quarterfinalist in The Savannah Music Festival American Traditions Competition. In 1997, she was awarded a Bistro Award by Back Stage Magazine. Laurie is a voting member of NARAS (The Grammy Awards) and is currently working on her the 2009 debut and release of TAPESTRY REWOVEN. Luba Mason is a classically trained vocalist, pianist and songwriter with an extensive Broadway career and has enjoyed playing the night club scene and touring the States for the past two years.  On January 27, 2009 Luba will release her sophomore album for which she has written eight out of ten tracks on the new CD entitled KRAZY LOVE.  This year Luba has played to significant acclaim in The Royal George Theatre Chicago, IL; Catalina's Jazz Club Los Angeles, CA; Yoshi’s Jazz Club Oakland, CA; Birdland New York, NY; The Metropolitan Room, New York, NY and various music festivals throughout the United States.  “Too good to overlook!" raves TimeOut New York.  “A voice as big an rich as the star filled sky!” raves Jazz Times.  Visit: www.LubaMason.com

Spider Saloff has been heard worldwide as the co-star and co-creator of the internationally syndicated weekly Public Radio series Words and Music on PBS, Spider Saloff has received critical acclaim nationally and internationally. As one of the rare officially sanctioned acts of the Gershwin Centennial, her concert, Spider Saloff Sings Gershwin, has been touring the U.S. since 1996 and headlined the St. Petersburg Gershwin Festival in Russia (the birthplace of the Gershwin's ancestors).
