After packing The Cutting Room for the record release party of STEREOPTICON by Gary Lucas & Jann Klose, the Urban Americana duo will be performing at Joe's Pub on Friday, June 17 at 7 PM.

Joe's Pub is at 425 Lafayette Street in New York City.

Gary & Jann's new album, STEREOPTICON is receiving high praise and support from friends and media alike. Through his career, Gary Lucas worked extensively with both Jeff Buckley and Captain Beefheart. He is a solo artist and band leader with 27 albums of his own in a wide variety of genres to his credit including avant-rock, folk, blues, jazz , world and electronic. He co-wrote and performed on the first two songs "Grace" and "Mojo Pin" on Jeff Buckley's legendary "Grace" album which is close to 2 million in sales and which routinely tops the Best Albums of All Times lists. He just toured Australia as the music director of A STATE OF GRACE, the music of Jeff & Tim Buckley; Martha Wainwright shared the stage with Gary.

Gary's upcoming Tribute to Jeff entitled "Touched By Grace" in Asbury Park on July 1 and 2. His book, TOUCHED BY GRACE: MY TIME WITH JEFF BUCKLEY (Jawbone) received 4 Stars in MOJO. On July 8 he performs a new live film score accompanying the 1934 Chinese silent film classic "The Goddess" at Pioneer Works in Red Hook. Gary shares a GRAMMY nomination with Joan Osborne for co-writing "Spider Web." He has also worked with talents as diverse as Leonard Bernstein, Lou Reed, Nick Cave, Chris Cornell, Amanda Palmer. ROLLING STONE says Gary is "one of the best and most original guitarists in America...a modern guitar miracle." A writer/musician/performer of amazing breadth and diversity, Gary has toured in over 40 countries and collaborated and recorded with an array of artists from different countries on continents of Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia, and the Americas including Cuba. In 2014, Gary received the Ambassador's Award for Cultural Diplomacy from the US Consul General of Milan, and was twice invited to play concerts for disadvantaged children in Mexico City as part of the US Embassy's Music Outreach Program. Gary is currently mixing a new album, THE WORLD OF CAPTAIN BEEFHEART featuring Nona Hendryx due for release later this year.

Jann Klose is an award-winning pop singer-songwriter, who has released five albums and two EPs. He was raised in Kenya, South Africa, Germany, and the United States, and now resides in New York City. Jann's most recent solo album, MOSAIC (2013) entered the Roots Rock charts at #22 and won three 2014 Independent Music Awards. His songs have been heard on the Grammy-nominated HEALTHY FOOD FOR THOUGHT compilation, MTV CRIBS and movies DEAD BROKE (Warner Bros) featuring Paul Sorvino and A VENUE FOR THE END OF THE WORLD BrinkVision) featuring Dick Cavett and Ian Anderson.

He scored the music to the short film THE BEAUTY OF DISASTER (Glimmer Girl) which screens (today) June 1 at the NY Shorts Fest. He has performed as an actor and singer in touring companies of Broadway musicals, including JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, JEKYLL & HYDE, and THE WHO'S TOMMY. In 2005, the off-Broadway production MOONLIGHT INTERIOR, a musical based on Jann's music, premiered in New York City. JANN has periodically collaborated with members of classical rock group Renaissance, and tours regularly in North America, Europe, Africa and Asia. He has opened for or performed with a wide range of artists including Pat Benatar, John Oates of Hall & Oates, Suzanne Vega, Paula Cole, Annie Haslam, Brett Dennen, Rusted Root, Vonda Shepard, Ben Taylor, Gary Hoey, Jeffrey Gaines, Bret Michaels, Willy Porter, Rosanne Cash, The Byrds' Roger McGuinn, Marty Stuart, The Yardbirds, Elliott Murphy, Pete Seeger and Les Paul.

The two worked together on the movie, GREETINGS FROM TIM BUCKLEY (Tribeca Film/Focus World/Universal) Gary consulted and played guitar in the movie. (Tony Award winner Frank Wood plays Gary in the film.) Jann's voice is featured as the voice of Tim Buckley in the movie.
