Carole J. Bufford - The Diva

A true original, Carole J. Bufford has made a career out of being fascinating. Rarely does a performer come along who isn't only so unique, they are also committed to that uniqueness. When engaged in the act of musical storytelling, Carole J. Bufford is able to find layers in the lyrics that one suspects even the author didn't know existed, nuances in the music that might surprise a Maestro, and manners of expression of which singing actors dream, but that only the special can produce. Bufford's voice is like a wheel of emotion - round and round it goes, and when it stops, all bets are off. Layer in flamboyance, fashion, and ferocity and you have an artist so mesmerizing that nightclubs across the country have to have her on their calendars, and audiences have to have her on their radar. One of the most fashionable women in the industry, Bufford brings a fully-realized vision to every show she does, from the top of her immaculately coiffed head to the tip of her point-toed stilletto, from the tiniest flick of her little finger, to the purring roar of her voice. Carole Bufford can and will sing everything from Broadway to standards, bluegrass to folk, but the genre of composition that she presents is superfluous because, in her capable hands, it all sounds new, it all sounds original, it all sounds exciting. New. Original. Exciting. That's what Carole J. Bufford is, and so much more.
