Broadway Sings For Pride & Rebecca Larkin Set for Metropolitan Room's Guinness World Record Attempt

Broadway Sings for Pride and Broadway's Rebecca Larkin (Lincoln Center's Tony-wining South Pacific Revival & Avenue Q) will be part of the over 200 performers trying to start off the new year off by trying to break a Guinness World Record! History will be made!

New York's Metropolitan Room will shock the entertainment world with an unprecedented, pull-out-the-stops programming initiative to kick off 2015. For three days -- Thursday January 1 at 7pm to Sunday January 4 at 7am -- the intimate concert venue will stage its first "Marathon Variety Show," with continuous entertainment for 60 hours straight.

Broadway Sings for Pride and Rebecca Larkin will be singing on Friday, January 1, 2014 at 1am.

The marathon, which is eligible to become a Guinness World Records record-holder for longest variety show ever, will feature over 235 Metropolitan Room performers -- from its most prominent stars to its most promising emerging talents. Starting at 7pm on Thursday January 1 and playing continuously for 60 hours until 7am on Sunday January 4, the Metropolitan Room's "Marathon Variety Show" will feature full and partial sets by a non-stop procession of talents. Webcast for a worldwide audience, the marathon will also feature several comedians, magicians, novelty performers and masters of ceremony who will make sure that the entertainment is continuous, with absolutely no breaks, giving new meaning to the adage "the show must go on!"

Rebecca Larkin has graced the stage the Broadway stage in Lincoln'Center's Tony-winning revival of South Pacific understudying Liat and playing Bloody Mary's assistant, and the Broadway production of Avenue Q, which she also was in the national touring company. Other credits include: Sondheim: The Birthday Concert (Vocalist, PBS/Lincoln Center), 21st Gypsy of the Year, 24th Annual Easter Bonnet Competition, and regional productions of: Little Shop o f Horrors, Avenue Q, Damn Yankees, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Miss Saigon and many more!

Broadway Sings for Pride (www.BroadwaySingsforPride.com) is a recent two-time nominee for "Most Valuable Campaign" from the New Organizing Institute, is a non-for-profit organization that brings together Broadway talent, activists and celebrities to promote LGBT equality through song. At the core, Broadway Sings for Pride connects with talented entertainers to showcase their voices to help raise awareness on the various issues affecting the LGBT community. Proceeds from our shows benefit worthy LGBT organizations that are truly making a difference in people's lives. Launched in June 2011, this non-profit grew out of the tragic suicides within the gay community, and we have received support from Neil Patrick Harris, Channing Tatum, Carol Channing, Kathy Griffin, LeAnn Rimes, Bernadette Peters, Nathan Lane, Joy Behar, Wendy Williams and many others.

Day passes cost $25 per person, or $60 for a three-day pass. The club offers a complimentary beverage with each ticket purchased. There will be no food or beverage minimums throughout the marathon except for Marilyn Maye, whose "By Request" requires a separate ticket purchase ($35 plus a two drink minimum).
