The Best of Broadway & Cabaret come out in support of the Actors' Temple, (est. 1917) tonight, Monday, November 18, 2013 at 7:00 PM. The Fourth Annual Concert Fundraiser will take place at the Temple, 339 West 47th Street. This musical celebration will benefit the theater district historic landmark which has been struggling to survive in recent years.
Performers donating their time and talent performing songs from "The Jewish American Songbook" include: Isaac Blech, Stephen Bogardus, Bernard Dotson, Beth Fowler, Deborah Grausman, Jackie Hoffman, Valerie Lemon, Dana Lorge, William Michals, Barbara Minkus, Mark Nadler, Lee Roy Reams, Eric Rudy, Camille Saviola, Lauren Schaffel, and Marilyn Sokol. Paul Chamlin will musical direct. Producer Randie Levine-Miller will also host. According to Randie Levine-Miller (her 4th year producing and hosting the event): "In the old days, Actors' Temple member, Sophie Tucker would get The Shuberts to donate a theater & she would produce an annual show. The money raised would help pay for the temple's yearly expenses. Now they just have me to gather my theater and cabaret performer friends. It's always a swell party, as well as a mitzvah!"
