Bay Area Cabaret Hosts an Evening with Kate Baldwin

Bay Area Cabaret welcomes Tony Award nominee Kate Baldwin for her West Coast cabaret debut on Sunday, November 4 at 5:00 p.m. in a new show titled How'd You Get This Number? featuring signature songs from her acclaimed performances in Finian's Rainbow, Giant, Big Fish and Hello Dolly!

Kate comes directly to Bay Area Cabaret from the record-breaking 2017 Broadway revival of Hello, Dolly! starring opposite Bette Midler, Bernadette Peters, and Gavin Creel. She was nominated for the 2017 Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle awards for her performance as Irene Molloy. In her new show, Kate tells the story of how each song became a part of her life and what it means to her. Songs from writers like Sondheim Guettell, Ahrens and Flaherty and long time friend and collaborator Georgia Stitt fill the program with gorgeous music and expert storytelling.

Kate's starring role in the 2009 Broadway revival of Yip Harburg and Burton Lane's hit classic musical Finian's Rainbow drew Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critic's Circle Award nominations and put her on the map as "a real musical theatre star." (New York Post) She received a Drama Desk Award nomination for her role as Jen in Keen Company's 20th Anniversary revival of Andrew Lippa and Tom Greenwald's John & Jen. She starred as Sandra Bloom in Big Fish on Broadway and earned accolades and a Drama Desk Award nomination for her work as Leslie Lynnton Benedict in Giant at The Public Theater. TV viewers have seen her concert work on PBS: First You Dream: The Music of Kander & Ebband Live From Lincoln Center: Stephen Sondheim's "Passion". Other notable concerts include Chicago Humanities Festival, National Symphony Orchestra, 54 Below and Lincoln Center's acclaimed American Songbook Series. This winter, Kate will co-star at Second Stage with Bryce Pinkham (A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder) in the premiere of Superhero, a new musical by Tony winner Tom Kitt (Next to Normal) about a fractured family, a mysterious stranger, and an unexpected hero.

Tickets to Kate Baldwin: How'd You Get this Number? are $65/$55 for subscribers with no food or drink minimum required. Information and tickets are available at www.bayareacabaret.org or by phone at City Box Office (415) 392-4400.
