Seth Meyers' THE AWESOMES Announces 8/1 Debut on Hulu; Host to Take Over LATE NIGHT 2/24

Seth Meyers (Saturday Night Live) announced at San Diego Comic-Con today, July 20, that his animated superhero series THE AWESOMES will premiere on August 1st on Hulu and Hulu Plus.
"I think it would have been like manslaughter, it definitely would have died," Meyers said at a panel in response to the idea of THE AWESOMES being developed for broadcast television.

The Voice cast of THE AWESOMES includes the talents of Ike Barinholtz, Rachel Dratch, Bill Hader, Rashida Jones, Kenan Thompson, Bobby Lee, Taran Killan, Paula Pell and Emily Spivey.
The series from Meyers and producer Michael Shoemaker will follow the story of "an unassuming superhero and his cohorts as they battle diabolical villains, the ever-present paparazzi, and a less-than-ideal reputation as second-class crime fighters."Meyers will be taking over for Jimmy Fallon as the host of Late Night on February 24, 2014. He confirmed he will stay with SNL until his new show kicks off.
