STARZ Announces OUTLANDER Seasons Five & Six On the Way + Season Four to Premiere this November

According to Entertainment Weekly, Starz and Sony Pictures Television announced on Wednesday that the series has been renewed for a fifth and sixth season at the network, ensuring the story of Claire and Jamie will continue for at least a few more years. The fourth season is currently filming and will premiere on Starz in November 2018, Starz also announced.

"Fans can rest assured their beloved Claire and Jamie will be back facing new challenges, adversaries, and adventures in seasons five and six as we delve into American history and continue the story of the Frasers as they settle in the New World," said Starz president and CEO Chris Albrecht in a statement.

Outlander is a pop culture phenomenon and has captivated audiences with its breathtaking romance, Science fiction, history and adventure in the hit Starz series also starring Tobias Menzies (TV's "Game of Thrones"), Lotte Verbeek (TV's "The Borgias"), Sophie Skelton (TV's "Ren"), and Richard Rankin (TV's "Thirteen") and introduces series newcomers David Berry (TV's "A Place to Call Home"), John Bell (TV's "Into the Badlands"), César Domboy (TV's "Borgia") and Lauren Lyle (TV's "Broken"). The OUTLANDER TV series is developed by Executive Producer Ronald D. Moore (TV's "Battlestar Galactica") and is produced by Tall Ship Productions, Story Mining & Supply Company, and Left Bank Pictures in association with Sony Pictures Television.

On the third season of OUTLANDER, the story picks up right after Claire travels through the stones to return to her life in 1948. Now pregnant, she struggles with the fallout of her sudden reappearance and its effect on her marriage to her first husband, Frank. Meanwhile, in the 18th century, Jamie suffers from the aftermath of his doomed last stand at the historic battle of Culloden, as well as the loss of Claire. As the years pass, Jamie and Claire attempt to make lives apart from one another, each haunted by the memory of their lost love. Separated by continents and centuries, Claire and Jamie must find their way back to each other. As always, adversity, mystery, and adventure await them, and the question remains: When they find each other, will they be the same people who parted at the standing stones, all those years ago?
