NBC's THE VOICE Tops 'Bachelor' Finale by +33% Margin

"The Voice" (3.6/11 in 18-49, 13.5 million viewers overall from 8-10:01 p.m. ET) is the #1 show of the night on the Big 4 in adults 18-49 by a +33% margin over ABC's "The Bachelor" finale and reunion (2.7 each) and was also the #1 program of the night on those nets in total viewers, topping the #2 show by 3.0 million persons (13.5 million vs. 10.5 million for CBS's "NCIS: LA).

· On the first Monday of Daylight Saving Time, "The Voice" finished within 5% of last week's 3.8 in these prelim fast-affiliate ratings, up from the same night last year, when "The Voice" declined by 18% week-to-week (3.7 vs. 4.5). In total viewers, "The Voice" is also within 5% of last week's fast-affil result (13.5 million vs. 14.3 million), while the decline on the same night last year was 12% (13.8 million vs. 15.6 million).


· Last night's "Voice" topped ABC's "Bachelor" finale head to head in adults 18-49 by a +33% margin (with a 3.6 rating vs. a 2.4) and in total viewers by a 42% margin (13.515 million vs. 9.526 million).

· L+3: Last week's "Voice" grew by +20% in 18-49 rating going from "live plus same day" to "live plus three day" Nielsens (from a 3.94 rating to a 4.73) and by more than 1.9 million viewers overall (from 14.7 million to 16.6 million), for its most-watched episode in L+3 since Monday, March 3, 2014 (17.4 million)..

· Facing special competition from ABC's "After the Final Rose" episode of "The Bachelor," "The Night Shift" (1.4/4 in 18-49, 5.8 million viewers overall from 10:01-11 p.m. ET) maintained 100% of last week's 18-49 rating and was up +6% in adults 25-54 (1.9 vs. 1.8), up +25% in adults 18-34 (1.0 vs. 0.8) and up +60% in men 18-34 (0.8 vs. 0.5).


· "The Night Shift" ranks #2 in the hour among ABC, CBS and NBC, ahead of CBS's "NCIS: LA," in adults 18-34 (1.0) and women 18-34 (1.1).


· "The Night Shift" will grow significantly in L+7, having increased by +40% last summer going from L+SD to L+7 in 18-49 (from a 1.36 rating to a 1.90) and more than 1.9 million viewers overall (from 6.6 million to 8.5 million).

In Late-Night Metered Markets Monday Night:

· In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.4/6 with an encore telecast; CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman," 2.3/6; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 2.6/7.

· In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 1.1/5 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.5/2; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.9/4.

· From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline" averaged a 1.4/5 in metered-market households and a 0.5/3 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

· From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.1/4 in metered-market households with an encore) beat CBS's "Late Late Show" (1.0/3 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.5/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.3/2 with an encore).

· At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.8/3 with an encore in metered-market households and a 0.4/3 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.


For the Week:

· NBC has won the primetime ratings week of March 2-8, with the Monday and Tuesday editions of "The Voice" accounting for two of the week's top four primetime telecasts on the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49, adults 25-54 and adults 18-34, plus two of the top three in total viewers.


· For the week, NBC averaged a 1.7 rating, 6 share in adults 18-49 and 7.0 million viewers overall, according to "live plus same day" viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.


· For the 2014-15 season to date, NBC ranks #1 or tied for #1 among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49 as well as adults 25-54, adults 18-34, women 18-34, women 18-49 and all key adult-male demos.


· In total viewers, NBC is #2 for the season, and running within 8% of its year-ago Olympics-boosted average (9.3 million vs. 10.2 million), making this season and last NBC's two top-scoring seasons in total viewers at this point since the 2006-07 season. This is the second year in a row NBC has ranked #2 in total viewers at this point in the season, marking first two times since 2003-04 that NBC has ranked as high as #2 in total viewers at this point.
