NBC Sports Presents Three Sunday NHL Matinee Matchups During Next Three Weekends On NBC

NBC Sports will present a trio of NHL on NBC Sunday matinees over the next three weekends, beginning this Sunday, Feb. 11, at noon ET on NBC, when Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins travel to St. Louis to face Vladimir Tarasenko and the Blues.

Coverage continues Sunday, Feb. 18, at noon ET on NBC, when Claude Giroux and the Philadelphia Flyers face off against Henrik Lundqvist and the New York Rangers, followed by a clash between the Blues and P.K. Subban and the NASHVILLE Predators on Sunday, Feb. 25, at noon ET on NBC.

Pre-game coverage for these three games will begin at noon ET on NBC, with puck drop slated for 12:20 p.m. ET. All three games will lead into NBC's coverage of the XXIII Olympic Winter Games from PyeongChang, South Korea.

Five-time Emmy Award-winner Mike 'Doc' Emrick (play-by-play), U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Member Eddie Olczyk (analyst), and Darren Pang ('Inside-the-Glass' analyst) will call Penguins-Blues from Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Mo. Emrick, Olczyk, and Joe Micheletti ('Inside-the-Glass' analyst) will call Flyers-Rangers from Madison Square Garden in New York, and Emrick, Pang, and Anson Carter (analyst) will provide commentary of Blues-Predators from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn. Rob Carlin will anchor pre-game and intermission coverage on-site for all three games.

This marks the second and final meeting of the season between the Penguins and Blues. The two teams opened the 2017-18 regular season in Pittsburgh on Oct. 4, as Alex Pietrangelo scored twice, including the game-winner in overtime, to give St. Louis a 5-4 victory on opening night. The Blues (32-30-3, 67 pts) currently sit in third place in the CROWDED Central Division, while the Penguins (30-22-3, 63 pts) are second in the CROWDED Metropolitan Division, just five points clear of sixth place.

This will be the second of four meetings between New York and Philadelphia this season. The Rangers defeated the Flyers 5-1 at Madison Square Garden on Jan. 16, led by a pair of goals by Rick Nash. The Flyers (25-19-9, 59 pts) currently occupy the first Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference, while the Rangers (25-24-5, 55 pts) are currently in eighth place in the Metropolitan Division.

Nashville has won both prior meetings this season against St. Louis, led by goaltender Pekka Rinne, who allowed just one goal on 65 shots combined in the two contests. The two teams will also face off in NASHVILLE on Feb. 13. The Predators (32-12-8, 72 pts) are jockeying with Winnipeg (73 pts) for the lead in the Central Division, currently five points clear of St. Louis.
