NBC Olympics Presents Coverage of Women's Wrestling World Cup This Weekend

NBC Olympics will showcase the Women's Wresting World Cup this weekend, with comprehensive coverage of 16 matches beginning with live streaming coverage of Session 1 on Friday, March 17, at 8 p.m. ET, and culminating with the gold medal match Sunday at 8:30 p.m. ET on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA. All matches of the World Cup can be live streamed via Trackwrestling.com.

The Women's Wrestling World Cup will feature the top eight nations in the world - Belarus, Canada, China, Japan, Mongolia, Romania, Sweden and the United States - grouped into two pools. Among the participants, only the U.S., China and Japan have previously won the World Cup. The Americans' first and only victory came in Tokyo in 2003.

Bill Doleman (play-by-play) and Katherine Shai (analyst), a former five-time member of the U.S. national team and two-time WCWA National Championships winner, will call the action this weekend on Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA.

UNITED STATES IN SEARCH OF FIRST TITLE SINCE 2003

The United States heads into the World Cup with a deep and experienced roster headlined by three-time world champion and Olympian Adeline Gray. The team also includes two-time world silver medalist Alli Raganand 2016 Rio Olympian Haley Augello. The U.S. fell to Mongolia in the bronze medal match last year.

JAPAN LOOKS TO REPEAT AFTER DEFEATING CHINA IN 2017

Japan looks to defend its World Cup title after defeating China in 2017, but will be without 2017 world champion Yui Susaki. Japan's roster is headlined by Olympians Risako Kawai and Sara Dosho, both of whom won medals at the 2016 Rio Games. Japan has won a world-best nine World Cup titles.

Trackwrestling, an NBC Sports Group company, will live stream complete coverage of the Women's World Cup across desktops, mobile devices, tablets and connected televisions. Visit http://www.trackwrestling.com/uww to watch every match live, and for live scoring and on-demand coverage of Team USA.
