Neverland seems never-ending these days, but we're not complaining!

Deadline writes that Melissa McCarthy will star as Peter Pan's plucky sidekick fairy Tinker Bell in a new comedy-adventure film directed by Shawn Levy from a script by Nicholas Stoller.

Not much has been revealed about the project, other than that it will be "a fresh take on the classic tale" for Fox.

Levy's 21 Laps and McCarthy's On the Day are producing.

While you're waiting for this new addition to the Pan universe, might as well tune in for NBC's PETER PAN LIVE!, airing on December 4.

McCarthy, currently on the big screen opposite Bill Murray in St. Vincent, will next appear in Spy, B.O.O.: Bureau of Otherworldly Operations, Michelle Darnell and The Heat 2. She stars in the TV series Mike & Molly and is known for her roles in Bridesmaids, Gilmore Girls and more.

Levy, who just signed on for '40 Thieves' and the Minecraft movie, is finishing up the third installment in his Night at the Museum series and recently helmed This Is Where I Leave You and The Internship. His past directing credits include Real Steel, Date Night and more.
