Kelly Clarkson to Sing National Anthem at Super Bowl

The Associated Press reports that the NFL will be officially announcing that American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson will be performing the National Anthem at this year's Super Bowl XLVI on February 5tH. Clarkson revealed the news on her twitter account yesterday. 

The popular recording artist recently released her latest single 'Mr. Know It All', which is currently a top ten single. 

It was previously announced that country star Blake Shelton, coach of NBC's 'The Voice', would be singing 'America the Beautiful' at the Super Bowl along with his wife, recording artist Miranda Lambert. Clarkson will be making an appearance on the NBC singing competition next month as a guest mentor.

Last year's performer of the National Anthem, Christina Aguilera, made headlines when she mixed up the words to the song. Other singers who have performed the anthem at the Super Bowl include Carrie Underwood, Beyonce and Whitney Houston
