FiveThirtyEight Listed Among the Finalists for the 2016 Data Journalism Awards

FiveThirtyEight has been named a finalist in four of the 10 categories for the 2016 Data Journalism Awards, including Data Journalism Website of the Year. The annual competition, organized by the Global Editors Network, recognizes exceptional work in data journalism and highlights the most ground-breaking data-driven storytelling around the world.
A shortlist featuring 63 finalists out of 471 entries was announced on May 10 during the Data Journalism Unconference in New York. In addition to Data Journalism Website of the Year, FiveThirtyEight's work was nominated in the following categories: "A Plagiarism SCANDAL Is Unfolding In The Crossword World," by Ollie Roeder for Investigation of the Year (Large Newsroom)"What Would It Take To Swing the Election?" by Aaron Bycoffe and David Wasserman for News Data App of the Year (Large Newsroom)
"Measuring Justice Scalia's Tenure," by Ben Morris, Ollie Roeder and Harry Enten for Best Use of Data in a Breaking News Story (within first 36 hours)
Other websites with finalists in the same categories include The Wall Street Journal, Quartz, ProPublica, Le Monde, The Guardian, Bloomberg, and Buzzfeed News. FiveThirtyEight had more overall finalists in the CONTEST than any other U.S. news organization.
