FOX chairman, Kevin Reilly, confirmed recently at TCA that iconic characters such as Catwoman, Joker, the Penguin - and even a young Bruce Wayne - will be featured in the upcoming new series, GOTHAM.

"['Gotham'] has all of the classic Batman characters," Reilly said, "with a young Bruce Wayne, with a Detective Gordon, before he became Commissioner Gordon, with the Riddler, the Penguin, the Joker ... Catwoman."

Today, Splash News has shared a first look at actor Robin Lord Taylor ("The Walking Dead") who will portray Oswald Cobblepot, a low-level gangster who is destined to become Batman's arch rival, the Penguin. Check it out at left!

Based upon characters published by DC Comics, GOTHAM is a drama exploring the origin stories of Commissioner James Gordon and the villains that made Gotham famous.

Bruno Heller (The Mentalist, Rome) wrote the pilot script and will serve as executive producer. Danny Cannon (the CSI series, Nikita) will direct and executive produce the pilot.

Series regulars include Ben McKenzie (Detective James Gordon), Donal Logue (Detective Harvey Bullock), Zabryna Guevara (Captain Essen), Erin Richards (Barbara Kean), Sean Pertwee (Alfred Pennyworth), Robin Lord Taylor (Oswald Cobblepot aka The Penguin), David Mazouz (Bruce Wayne), Camren Bicondova (Selina Kyle) and Jada Pinkett Smith (Fish Mooney).
