"The Daily Show's" John Oliver is pulling double duty this summer when he once again brings together some of his favorite stand-up comedians for the fourth season of "John Oliver's New York Stand-Up Show," premiering on COMEDY CENTRAL tonight, July 26 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT.
Filmed at Webster Hall in New York City and presented with limited commercial interruption, "John Oliver's New York Stand-Up Show" is a half-hour series featuring three comedians per episode and hosted by Oliver, who opens each episode with all-new material. In the premiere episode, featuring Nick Turner, Colin Jost, and Reggie Watts, we learn about the troubling existence of "Daily Show" slash fiction, exactly what a year's supply of donuts consists of, and Watts' stance on cultural differences, told in his signature song form.
Leading up to the season premiere, both the Comedy Central Stand-Up and John Oliver's New York Stand-Up Show Web sites will feature preview clips from the new season, episode highlights from previous seasons and a photo gallery featuring season four comedians. The CC:Stand-Up app will also feature a special playlist throughout the month of July with highlights from the first three seasons of the series.
Each episode of "John Oliver's New York Stand-Up Show" will be made available the day after air in SD and HD for download-to-own on iTunes, Xbox Video, Amazon Instant Video, Sony Entertainment Network, Samsung and Vudu. A season pass also will be available on the platforms that support it.
"John Oliver's New York Stand-Up Show" is produced by Avalon Television, Art & Industry, and Sixteen String Jack Productions. It is executive produced by Oliver, Richard Allen-Turner, David Martin, James Taylor, and Jon Thoday; and directed by Shannon Hartman. Michelle Caputo is the series Producer, and Avalon's Dan Lubetkin serves as Co-Executive Producer. The Executive in Charge for Comedy Central is Anne Harris.
