It's that time of year again! The MTV Video Music Awards are back and BroadwayWorld has your guide for everything you need to know about this year's show! Ranging from the nominees, musical performers and host. Read below for more information.

When and What Time Are The VMAs?

The VMAs take place on Sunday, August 27 on MTV. The pre-show begins at 7 P.M. EST followed by the award ceremony taking place at 8 P.M. EST.

How Can I Watch?

If you aren't watching on a TV set, no worries! MTV is streaming the show on MTV's live TV site, which requires a cable login. The MTV app is free for viewers but you need a cable login for that as well. There will also be live behind the scenes footage streaming on iTunes/Apple TV, Roku, Google Play, Xbox One, Amazon, Chromecast and more.

Who is Hosting?

Katy Perry is not only hosting the show but she will be performing her single 'Chained To The Rhythm.

Who are the Nominees?

Kendrick Lamar leads the pack with eight nominations which includes artist of the year and video of the year for his number one single 'Humble.' Check out the full list of nominees here.

Who is performing?

Fifth Harmony, Shawn Mendes, Ed Sheeran, Lorde, Kendrick Lamar, Thirty Seconds To Mars, Miley Cyrus and The Weeknd are all set to perform at the ceremony. Khalid, Bleachers and Cardi B are all performing at the pre-show. DNCE and Rod Stewart are teaming up for a reimagined version of Stewart's 1978 hit 'Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?' and will be performing the track for the first time together via live video from Las Vegas.

Who is This Year's Video Vanguard Recipient?

Pink will be receiving this prestigious award and will also be performing at the event. She recently announced her seventh studio album 'Beautiful Trama' will be released October 13.

Will Taylor Swift Make An Appearance?

There is no official word to if she will be at the show but the music video for her new single 'Look What You Made Me Do' off her highly-anticipated sixth album 'Reputation' will premiere during the broadcast.
