This week, Seth sat down with Broadway star Barbara Walsh and asked her what it was like to find out she had been nominated for a Tony award for her performance in FALSETTO'S several years ago.

"Back then they didn't have "New York 1" so you didn't get the news immediately," she recalled. " I actually had gone to an afternoon movie to see "Howard's End" and when I came back, I had all these phone messages from friends congratulating me. It's weirdly surreal"

The month between the nomination announcement and the actual awards ceremony was an anxious time for Walsh. "You want to get yourself out there and give it your all, and then you don't win and your suddenly back to doing the laundry again. The real curse is that the next show that you do, you really want to be nominated again."

Among her many Broadway performances, Walsh truly cherished her starring role as Joanne in Stephen Sondheim's COMPANY in which she had the opportunity to interact with the famed composer. "Mr. Sondheim came in one day and boy, did he give me notes. He said 'Be more drunk! Go for the laughs!' I was freaking out but I tried being more drunk and it really freed me and opened me up. I will always be grateful that he gave me those notes!"

The actress is currently starring in the off-Broadway production of READING UNDER THE INFLUENCE, a play by Tony Glazer currently playing at the DR2 Theater. "I play Meg. I'm one of several women in a Westchester book club. There's a lot of chardonnay, a lot of fighting. The playwright is commenting on reality TV - you know, I guess we are really just a version of the Housewives of New York!"

Sirius/XM's Live On Broadway with Broadway star Barbara Walsh and legendary singer Julie Budd will air exclusively on Sirius/XM Channel 72 on Friday, May 13 at 7 PM ET with encore presentations on Sunday, May 15 at 11 PM ET, Tuesday, May 17 at 7AM and Wednesday May 18 at 12 noon ET.
