Andy Muschietti to Direct ATTACK ON TITAN

Andy Muschietti is set to direct the feature film adaptation of "Attack on Titans" for Warner Bros., according to Variety. On Monday, Warner Bros. finalized a deal with Japan-based publishing company Kodansha.

Written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama, "Attack on Titan" has become one of the best-selling manga series with over 76 million copies in print since debuting in 2009.

The series is set in a world in which humanity lives in cities surrounded by enormous walls protecting themselves from gigantic humanoids that are referred to as titans.

The film is being produced by David Heyman with Masi Oka and Andy's sister Barbara Muschietti.

Muschietti recently directed the reboot of "It," which is based on the Stephen King novel. The film made $700 million worldwide and became one of the biggest horror film of all time. Muschietti is currently in production on the sequel "It: Chapter 2." The sequel stars Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy, Bill Hader, and Isaiah Mustafa as the adult versions of the Losers Club. The film will be released on Sept. 6, 2019.
