Amanda Peet to Star in New HBO Comedy TOGETHERNESS

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Amanda Peet will star in a new relationship comedy for the HBO Network. The project, titled TOGETHERNESS, is from the team of Jay and Mark Duplass.

The comedy will center of "two couples living under the same roof while struggling to keep their relationships alive and also pursuing their individual dreams." Peet will take on the role of Tina, a recent LA transplant from Houston.

Mark Duplass will portray Brett Pierson, described as "a guy who seems to have it all, but is secretly having problems both personally and professionally." His wife Michelle will be played by actress Melanie Lynskey. Steve Zissis, who will also star, will take on the writing duties and serve as a consulting producer.

The Duplass brothers will write, executive-produce and direct the project which begins production in early 2014.

Peet has appeared in a variety of films, including the 2003 psychological horror 'Identity', the 2005 action-thriller 'Syriana' and the 2006 comedy-drama 'Griffin & Phoenix'. She has also appeared on TV in 'Jack & Jill', Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, The Good Wife and Bent.

The actress appeared in the off-Broadway revival of Clifford Odets's 'Awake and Sing' in 1984. In February 2006, she performed in Neil Simon's Broadway production of 'Barefoot in the Park'. The Manhattan Theater Club will stage Peet's first play next season.
