ARC Picks Up U.S. Rights to Scott Glenn Starrer THE BARBER

It was announced today that Arc Entertainment has acquired all U.S. distribution rights to CHAPMAN Filmed Entertainment's thriller "The Barber" (formerly known as "Trigger"), starring Scott Glenn ("The Silence of the Lambs," "The Bourne Ultimatum," "Training Day") in a deal worth mid-six figures.

"The Barber" will have both a theatrical and premium VOD release through ARC Entertainment, with the distributor eyeing a spring 2015 release date.

A suspenseful, character-driven thriller with a twist, "The Barber" examines two men fixated on what triggers the enormity of evil: a father whose life is destroyed in pursuit of a monster, a son caught in a deadly charade as he tries to unravel his father's obsession.

Starring opposite Scott Glenn are Chris Coy ("Deliver Us From Evil," HBO's "True Blood," AMC's "The Walking Dead"), Stephen Tobolowsky ("Memento," "Groundhog Day," "Buried"), Olivia Taylor Dudley ("Transcendence," "Chernobyl Diaries") and Kristen Hager ("Wanted," Syfy's "Being Human").

The film was directed by CHAPMAN alumnus Basel Owies from a script by Max Enscoe.

Chapman Filmed Entertainment's Travis Knox ("The Bucket List") produced "The Barber." Bob Yari and William Immerman are executive producers.

"The Barber" is the first film to originate from CHAPMAN Filmed Entertainment - the first-of-its-kind film production company run through CHAPMAN University's Dodge College of Film and Media Arts. The company is a sustainable, fully-functioning independent film production company designed to produce three to four micro-budget pictures per year.

ARC Entertainment's Scott Moesta negotiated the acquisition with Robbie Little of The Little Film Company, who is handling worldwide sales.

The film is having its market debut at the American Film Market (AFM) where The Little Film Company is screening it to buyers for the first time.
