ABC's TGIT Lineup Rises Rises To 18-Week Highs On Thursday Night

"Grey's": L3 = 11.9 million/3.6 rating, L7 = 12.9 million/4.0 rating and MP+35 = 5.7 rating
"Scandal": L3 = 7.9 million/2.4 rating, L7 = 8.6 million/2.7 rating and MP+35 = 3.6 rating
"HTGAWM": L3 = 5.8 million/1.9 rating, L7 = 6.4 million/2.2 rating and MP+35 = 2.7 rating

ABC Thursday Prime (8:00-11:00 p.m. - 6.0 million and 1.6/6 in AD18-49):
ABC's TGIT lineup grew to best-since-premiere numbers and nearly tied a "Big Bang"-led CBS for No. 1 on Thursday in Adults 18-49 (1.6/6 vs. 1.7/7), while beating out FOX with 2 hours of "The Four" by 23% (1.3/5) and NBC's all-original premiere/finale schedule by 60% (1.0/4). With strong TV Playback for its Thursday dramas, ABC is projected to move ahead of CBS and straight-out win the night in the Live + 7 Day Adult 18-49 ratings. ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" was the night's No. 2 TV show to "The Big Bang Theory" in Adults 18-49 (tied w/"Young Sheldon"), while outrating CBS' top comedy as Thursday's No. 1 TV program in Adults 18-34 and key Women (W18-34/W18-49) and leading ABC to a primetime victory on all three Nielsen measures.

  • ABC grew week to week in viewers (+3%) and young adults (+7%) to deliver 18-week Thursday night highs - since season-premiere Thursday on 9/28/17.
  • At 8:00 p.m., hitting season highs for the 3rd week running, ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" built for its 3rd consecutive airing with Total Viewers (+2% - 8.8 million vs. 8.6 million) and rose 5% over last week's Fast Affiliate Adult 18-49 rating (2.3/9 vs. 2.2/9, which went up 1-tenth in the Nationals) to achieve 1-year highs- since 1/26/17.
  • At 9:00 p.m., ABC's "Scandal" ranked No. 1 in its hour with young adults (tie) for the 2nd week in a row and added 8% week to week in Total Viewers (5.6 million vs. 5.2 million) and 8% in Adults 18-49 (1.4/5 vs. 1.3/5), marking a new season high in viewers and matching a season best in young adults for its strongest results since last March - since 3/16/17 and 3/30/17, respectively.
  • At 10:00 p.m., ABC's "How to Get Away with Murder" also finished No. 1 in its hour with young adults (tie) and gained 6% week to week in Total Viewers (3.7 million vs. 3.5 million) and stayed even with Adults 18-49 (1.0/4), holding at a best-since-premiereyoung adult number - since 9/28/17.
