ABC's NIGHTLINE Beats CBS for 7th Straight Week

For the week of May 27, 2013, ABC News' "Nightline" averaged 1.448 million Total Viewers, 610,000 Adults 25-54 and 477,000 Adults 18-49, according to Nielsen Media Research. For the 7th week in row, "Nightline" beat CBS' "The Late Late Show" in Total Viewers (+127,000) and Adults 18-49 (+24,000).

"Nightline" was up over ABC's numbers in the time-slot on the year-ago week in Total Viewers (+6%) and Adults 25-54 (+3%) - 1.372 million and 590,000 on w/o 5/28/12. "Nightline" has posted year-to-year Total Viewers gains in 3 of the last 4 weeks.

On average in its new time period, "Nightline" has improved on ABC's performance compared to the same weeks last year in Total Viewers (+7%). In addition, "Nightline" leads CBS' "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" across the board: Total Viewers (+142,000), Adults 25-54 (+27,000) and Adults 18-49 (+2,000).

On average in its new time period, "Nightline" has improved ABC's performance compared to the same weeks last year in Total Viewers (+7%). In addition, "Nightline" leads CBS' "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" across the board: Total Viewers (+142,000), Adults 25-54 (+27,000) and Adults 18-49 (+2,000).

During the week of May 27th, "Nightline" reported live from Oklahoma as residents were once again being battered by deadly tornadoes; went with Diane Sawyer inside one of the country's most dangerous high schools; aired Brian Ross' investigation of the ex-mobster turned FBI informant who might be back to his life of crime; and introduced "Feed Frenzy" - a nightly look at the buzziest stories of the day.

ABC News' "Nightline" is anchored by Cynthia McFadden, Terry Moran and Bill Weir. Juju Chang is a correspondent. Jeanmarie Condon is the executive producer. The program airs weeknights from 12:35 a.m., ET to 1:00 a.m. on the ABC Television Network. Together with "Jimmy Kimmel Live," "Nightline" is part of ABC's winning late night strategy of airing news and entertainment programming.

Note: Due to the Memorial Day holiday on Monday (5/27/13), all three programs were coded specials and are excluded from the averages.
