Video: Edmonton Opera Reimagines 'Maybe This Time' to Tribute the Edmonton Oilers

Edmonton Opera is once again joining in on the playoff excitement. Following its previous hit inspired by La Bamba, the company has released a new video reimagining the iconic song Maybe This Time, famously performed by Liza Minnelli, this time with lyrics dedicated to the Edmonton Oilers.

Performed by members of the Edmonton Opera chorus, the video blends operatic talent with playful, hometown spirit. It embraces the company’s genuine love for the Oilers, shared across the entire team, along with the passion of fans across the city, and reflects a willingness to step outside traditional boundaries.

The original video sparked widespread engagement and playful debate across the city, drawing in audiences far beyond the typical opera crowd, generating over 75,000 views. This new release leans into that same energy, inviting Edmontonians to celebrate, laugh, and rally together.
