About the Opera - Harvard College Opera invites you to the greatest party of the year in Johann Strauss II's Die Fledermaus, presented at Agassiz Theater in Cambridge. Reimagined in a modern-day corporate setting, this comedic operetta encompasses one uproarious day as playboy Eisenstein postpones his prison sentence to attend Prince Orlofsky's costume party, only to find himself the butt of a practical joke. Fueled by deception and copious champagne, the rousing story and score will "turn your morals upside down and set your spirits free."

About the Artists - Die Fledermaus features an entirely undergraduate cast, production staff, and orchestra. In the lead roles are soprano Veronica Richer (Rosalinde), soprano Arianna Paz (Adele), countertenor Benjamin Wenzelberg (Prince Orlofsky), tenor Ethan Craigo (Eisenstein), tenor Samuel Rosner (Alfred), baritone Oliver Berliner (Dr. Falke), baritone Luke Minton (Frank), soprano Nivi Ravi (Ida), and Nick Hornedo (Dr. Blind/Frosh).

Music Director Alexander "Sasha" Yakub is a conductor and violinist who has performed with Brattle Street Chamber Players, Duo 404, and Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and studied at Tanglewood Music Center. Stage Director Mitchell Polonsky has directed productions at Harvard, including Cabaret, The Room, All's Faire, and The Lottery, and has assistant directed international productions of Samuel Beckett's Endgame and Rimsky-Korsakov's Sadko.

Die Fledermaus is stage managed by Beckett Mullen and produced by Camille Bélanger, Spencer Glesby, and Madeleine Snow.

Harvard College Opera (HCO), formerly the Dunster House Opera Society, was founded in 1992 by Dunster House students as the premier undergraduate opera company dedicated to making opera more accessible to the greater Harvard community. HCO presents one full-length opera each February with an entirely undergraduate cast and production team. Throughout the academic year, HCO hosts a variety of smaller-scale events, from opera screenings to free recitals of songs, arias, and opera scenes. 2018 marks Harvard College Opera's fifth year performing in the historic Agassiz Theater.
