In advance of his upcoming Freddy Kruger-inspired album mc chris is dreaming, the "undisputed king of nerdcore" is releasing "sad sack", dealing with the topic of...well, release. "sad sack" is now streaming via HipHopDX, and the comedy-hip-hop-horror crossover album will be available September 30.

mc chris is dreaming sees the artist coming to grips with deep psychological issues, ranging from nightmares, hopes, fears, dreams and the inner workings of the mind. The album also contains a story line about mc chris battling with the master of night terrors himself, Freddy Kruger (voice overs done by mc chris and fellow voice actor John Gemberling). Covering territory from uptempo disco to horror trap beats, mc chris is dreaming is an album that is both humorous and deeply personal. It is this combination which separates this album from any of mc chris's previous work.

LA-based but hailing from the Midwest, mc chris was one of the first rappers to focus solely on nerd life, covering Star Wars, Harry Potter, ninjas and unrequited love, instead of the usual hip hop fare. He's just as likely to make an appearance at Comicon as he is at SXSW. mc got his start at Adult Swim, working as a writer, actor, songwriter and animator. Since beginning his career in music, mc has crossed America countless times touring and collaborating with Pinback, Reggie and the Full Effect, Talib Kweli, Andrew WK, Cee-Lo, Childish Gambino and more. His music has been featured in Zak and Miri Make a Porno, Jay and Silent Bob's Super Groovy Cartoon Movie, Broad City, So You Think You Can Dance? among others. mc chris will also begin his Ten Years of Touring Tour with MC Lars and Mega Ran later this month and continue throughout the fall.
